Key priorities for Taylors Falls

Being mayor is an opportunity and a responsibility to serve our entire community. Together, we can make everyday life more affordable, accessible, and connected. Explore our core priorities and concrete plans for thoughtful, transparent leadership.

Responsible spending and fiscal oversight

Before asking residents to pay more or accept fewer services, City Hall must first take a hard look at its own spending. That means reviewing staffing and administrative costs, as well as every outside contract paid to private firms. Specialized expertise may sometimes be necessary, but taxpayers deserve to know what they are paying for, why it is needed, and whether it is producing results. We should require competitive pricing, clear expectations, and accountability, while bringing appropriate work in house when it can be done effectively and affordably. The goal is simple: protect essential services while reducing unnecessary pressure on property taxpayers.

Open and accountable local government

City Hall belongs to the people. I am committed to making public information easily accessible, explaining council decisions clearly, answering questions directly, and ensuring city rules apply equally and fairly to everyone. True accountability means listening, bringing neighbors together, and following through on our commitments.

A thriving community for year-round residents

We will protect the unique history, natural beauty, and small-town charm of Taylors Falls while actively supporting year-round businesses, public spaces, and family services. As a first step, I will initiate a public 90-day review of city spending and services so residents can see immediate progress. Please reach out with your feedback, learn about the candidates, and vote.
